Kelsey + Steven | Texas Meets Tupelo Cotton Mill Wedding

Kelsey and Steven’s love story is something straight from a romance comedy. A Mississippi girl and a Texas man see each other from across a crowded bar and unknown to each other, it’s love at first sight.. or at least attraction. After a brief introduction, the Mississippi girl decides to take a secret photo of the Mr. Texas and his friends (because she needs future evidence of his hotness). Unknown to the Mississippi girl, Texas man wants to talk to her too, and searches for her all night, thus creating a whirlwind romance that leads us to this stunning Tupelo wedding. I can’t wait to share this preview with you. Kelsey and Steven’s wedding was so well planned and executed by an amazing team of vendors. What an honor to work with all parties involved!

The Goudeau family hosted the rehearsal dinner at The Antler. Decor and design were created by Busylad Rentals and floral designs by Tracy Proctor of Tupelo. To pay homage to the host city, the Goudeau family asked Elvis to stop by for some entertainment.

“I did the traditional something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new. Something borrowed were my future mother in law’s earrings, there was a blue stone on my garter, something old was a piece of my mom’s veil, from her wrapped and pinned around my bouquet, and something new were my Jimmy Choo shoes Steven bought me as a wedding gift.” – Kelsey

For Kelsey and Steven’s first look, we decided to spice things up. We had them stand back to back and read letters to each other. It’s always nice to hear your partner actually speak the words to you, and it helps build the anticipation of seeing each other!

“The entire weekend feels so special to us. The turnout by all of our friends and families considering the distance traveled, that was very humbling to us. The amount of effort our families put into helping plan our event both local and from afar was also very special and stood out to us.” -Kelsey

“We would like to brag on Tracy Proctor, our florist and visionary, who helped design our thoughts into color.”

Tracy stopped by to check in and make sure Kelsey loved her bouquets.

“Our wedding fulfilled and surpassed all of my dreams throughout the years. It was a fairytale moment seeing Steven at the end of the aisle, with my Dad right beside me. I kept thinking “this is real. I’m so lucky”.” – Kelsey

“Most of our wedding design was very Vintage/Modern. The Cotton Mill really compliments both of our styles which made it flow exactly the way we envisioned it.” -Kelsey

Creative Cakes made Kelsey and Steven’s six-tiered intricate wedding cake, while the groom’s cake featured Steven’s first love, hunting. One of my all time favorite performing bands, The Memphis Soul Review, got the crowd moving and shaking.

“This is your only time to have all of the attention on just you and your future husband. Learn to love every minute of it and reflect on why you are engaged daily!” -Kelsey when asked to give advice to future brides

“My wedding dress caught on fire by a sparkler when we exited the reception. Thankfully it was small, and was stomped out before we became aware a few hours later. It was all caught on video!” – Kelsey

Kelsey and Steven, you are so blessed to have family that loves you so big! It was evident all day. Thank you for allowing Sophie and I to share such a special event! It was truly wonderful. – Ann-Marie
